ExperienceI want to tutor because of the shear enjoyment I receive from seeing students prosper and thrive from the acquirement of knowledge. I am currently looking to take additional students in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry at High School and University level.
I graduated from Rossmoyne Senior High School with a TER (equivalent to ATAR) of 99.05 in 2008 studying Applicable Mathematics, Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, Economics and English Literature.
I was selected and employed by UWA to tutor 1st Year Engineering Mechanics (GENG1001)(a core unit), to a class of 30 students to whom I taught statics, dynamics and dimensional reasoning in 1 hour tutorial sessions every week aswell as marking test papers.
Engineering Dynamics (MECH1401) (core unit), a class where two other tutors and I taught students "workshop style" for an entire semester. We were required to do worked examples and answer any questions the lecture theatre of students had on Engineering Dynamics.
Lab demonstrating/tutoring the multidisciplinary Second Year core Engineering Science unit, Motion (ENSC2001) covering electrical circuit fundamentals, engineering mechanics and fluid mechanics. Required the ability to communicate effectively and give comprehensive technical advice for a large group of students.
Tutored masters level unit GENG4402 Control Engineering at UWA. Unit topics cover basic control and instrumentation theory for chemical and mechanical engineers.
Apart from this, I have privately tutored Yr 11 and 12 High school students in Geometry and Trigonometry, Introductory Calculus, Applicable Mathematics and Calculus as well as the new courses MATH Specialist and MATH 3A 3B as well as MATH 3C 3D and Year 12 Physics for 7 years now.
I was also selected and employed by UWA as a Engineering Research Consultant to academics in the development of UWA’s 2012 undergraduate engineering ENSC2001 Motion Course (core unit) specialising in developing practical applications and project work ranging from Fluid Mechanics, Dynamics and Electrical Circuit Fundamentals. In 2013 I was also selected to tutor the unit as a workshop demonstrator.
Additionally I have undertaken an internship at mining and mineral processing company Proteus EPCM Engineers and at subsea engineering company INTECSEA. I am currently employed by the leading multinational engineering company, Technip as a graduate mechanical engineer.
