Experience

IB score of 45, 99.95 ATAR (Trinity Grammar School 2014) Subjects: English HL (80) Psychology HL (68) Chemistry HL (90) French SL (93) Maths SL (94) Physics SL (71) EE in Psychology (33). I specialise in Chemistry and Psychology tutoring. Every HL Chemistry student I've taught through year 12 has received a 7, and I've had students with 7s every year since I finished school. Many of my students come to me after being disappointed by other tutors. In both psychology and chemistry I teach my students rigorous content, exam preparation. I typically teach my students content around 3-5x faster than they learn in school, and with better results. Importantly, my students will understand the standard they need to reach to achieve their desired grades. My students are usually the best performing in their school in IB exams, being among if not the only 7 in their class for difficult HL chemistry and psychology. I have extensive resources including past papers, worksheets, specimen papers, relevant university lectures and coursework, notes from previous candidates and of course my own old work- exam responses. My Internal Assessments in all subjects were awarded full marks or close to, and I use these and the IAs of my old peers to help my students model their own assessments as close to perfect as possible. My lessons typically involve teaching coursework content in depth as well as giving help with practice exam questions. I usually don't give students past papers to do in lesson time, but as homework. I mark students work and answer questions outside of lesson time as well. I teach systematic exam responses with reference to the IB markschemes so my students always know what they need to write for full marks. I took 5 HL Psychology students in 2015, after trials, who had not been taught their paper 3 (qualitative research methodology) or their options. They improved from very poor predicted grades, and in finals three of them received 6s (one missed out on a 7 by three marks, another by five). I had one psychology student in 2017 who received the only 7 in her school. I am occasionally able to take umat students, give advice about interviews and medicine application processes. I received 95th percentile in UMAT (2014) on my first attempt and received various university offers and scholarships: Offers: UNSW Medicine (unbonded), UNSW Law, USYD Combined Medicine-Advanced science (unbonded with Scholarship), Monash Medicine (unbonded with scholarship), JCU (unbonded), and Flinders University Combined Medicine- Science (Unbonded). I take students at the university of Sydney libraries or at my place in the inner west.

Hobbies

I've always been interested in achieving the best possible results for myself and I hope to help others do the same. I enjoy playing music in a band with my friends. When I'm not at uni or studying, I'll be watching football and waiting for the new Game of Thrones season. I received an A+ in C-Mus piano and an A in 8th grade Viola, I also sing both classical and contemporary music. I've taught myself some guitar and aim to eventually play some proper gigs. I play tennis and was in the school second IV, in 2012 and 2013 I won team gold at nationals skiing interschools and, and in 2012 I won individual bronze. I play in an amateur indoor football competition in Leichardt. I've always been very involved in Extra Curricular activities and am very good at juggling study and my various other interests. I try to keep my French up as much as possible, be it speaking with my friends or watching French movies. Although I love french, I will be always hesitant to take on tutoring beginners in French since I'm not a native speaker. I take students at the university of Sydney libraries or at my place in the inner west.
