Over the years, I have helped many students achieve their goal of studying medicine. I find it very rewarding and am passionate about helping others excel and achieve their goals.
Experience
I specialise in individual/group S2 and S3 tutoring as well as interview preparation. My approach is teaching you vital knowledge, skills and secrets important to excel in the exam. I've included a small sample of my most recent past student reviews. Tom (S3- 92, 84 - GAMSAT 2020): I did the weekly group tutorial sessions with George focussing on section 3. George has a good knowledge of the main topics of questions that are in the gamsat, so our study was focussed on the specific areas that were most likely to benefit us in the exam. Rather than have us memorise large amounts of information, George’s tutoring style was based on showing us how to approach gamsat style questions and giving us plenty of practice questions to get the hang of it. This was really helpful because the gamsat tests reasoning skills more than how much content you memorise. The tutoring sessions were also very useful for guiding my studies outside of class, by finding areas of weakness and providing practice material. My scores were 81 in section 1, 71 in section 2, and 92 in section 3 for an overall score of 84. George’s tutoring sessions are definitely a big reason for why I did well in section 3. Li (S3-80, 74 GAMSAT 2020) : I got 80 on S3 and an overall of 74! George was an amazing teacher with such a relaxing teaching style. Classes were enjoyable but also allowed us to discuss our thoughts and develop effective strategies. The one thing I really appreciated was the the emphasis on developing problem solving skills, rather than content. This gave me confidence on the test day to be able to adapt and think through more difficult questions. 10/10 recommend! Nathan (S2 78 - 71 GAMSAT 2020) : I started studying for the GAMSAT with little idea of how to approach my studying and what would be expected of me in the exam. Coming from an engineering background I felt my writing in particular would need the most work. George helped me identify my weaknesses and provided me with consistent feedback and guidance to develop my writing style. The most helpful aspect however was the essay framework which we developed together, focusing on my strengths, which I could use given any essay prompt. Section 2 went from being my worst to my best, scoring a 78 for my essays. I am extremely grateful to George. The incredibly daunting task of studying for GAMSAT was made manageable and I was taught how to succeed in it regardless of what I was asked on the day. Connie (2019 interviewee) : George was a really great interview prep tutor! From the very first lesson, he had a clear plan in mind of how I should prepare in order to improve my interview skills. Throughout the sessions, George was very attentive and provided helpful feedback for all my interview questions. He would always be willing to help even after our lessons and provided great resources and support leading up to the interviews. The mock interviews we had were also extremely beneficial as they were quite similar to the real interviews, thus enabling me to feel much more confident during the actual interview. Thanks to George, I’m now studying Medicine and I’m so thankful for all the help he has provided me.

I love travelling, having been through Asia, Europe, the US and around Australia (prior to the pandemic of course!). I really enjoy experiencing different cultures and food.
