I graduated from St Paul's Grammar School in 2017 with an ATAR of 97.6 (IB score 39). I am currently pursuing Bachelor of Commerce and Advanced Studies degrees at the University of Sydney.
Experience
Completing the IB Diploma in 2017 allows me to be extremely familiar with the intricacies of the current syllabus. I am able to not only effectively interpret and explain the demands of the course, but offer streamlined techniques to meet every criterion. I can provide a bounty of IB course materials to help students succeed, including past IB papers, subject reports, subject guides, textbooks, examples, and comprehensive study materials. I am also able to offer valuable advice on time management in terms of subject load (something teachers often ignore in favour of their own subject!). Having taught myself the IB Theatre course I can highlight the exact study techniques to achieve a 7! I have volunteered to spend time teaching primary school children reading through a mentoring program implemented at St Paul's Grammar School. I have also spent a month abroad working in an English boarding school where I observed teaching techniques for a variety of age groups, as well as time in Fiji working in poor community schools. I am someone who definitely understands and sympathizes with the rigour and hard work the IB demands. If I can help and alleviate a measure of stress a student is under, I would be happy to help!

My name is Jen and I'm a Sydney native with a great sense of wonderlust. I split my time between study, work and fun with friends! I love binge-watching tv shows, sport (almost any kind), piano playing and reading. I'm an enthusiastic people-person, with a warm demeanour. I am understanding towards all levels of capability and able to foster a comfortable environment for a student/tutor relationship. I am able to act as a mentor not only in my specialist subject but generally in terms of study and organisational skills. I truly believe I can transfer my knowledge of the IB with great success.
