My studies began doing a course on Interior decoration, my interest then evolved into studying Advanced Diploma of Interior Design across 5 years with a well-reputable college in Sydney. I've taken addition short courses including Kitchen Planning, Influencing and Persuading Skills, Essential Selling Skills and more.
Experience
I'm an Interior Design Teacher and qualified Australian Senior Interior Designer with 8 years experience working on a range of hospitality, office workspace, restaurants, hotels, retail, high end residential, high rise apartments, education and other commercial projects across cities around Australia in addition to locations around the world including Nicaragua, Indonesia and Dominican Republic. My experience includes leading a project team of designers with involvement collaborating with other creatives and at times crossing over into branding, marketing, product design and graphics, producing a practical yet aesthetically unique concept, design development, tender and construction documentation, presentations, renderings, product selections, problem solving with contractors right through til construction and completion of the final product. My experience mentoring graduate and undergraduate interior designers started back on 2014, I've worked with different design firms and recently teaching in a private institute who specifically specialising in Interior Design. I teach the following:- - Assisting students currently studying Interior Design that need extra support with specific tasks, concept development, projects and skillets related. - Training graduate designers with skills that are often missed through colleges and universities that bridge the gap between graduating and jumping into a design job with confidence to support a team in a fast paced environment. - Design Material knowledge in detail across various sectors. For example do you understand the importance of knowing various care and maintenance and performance with different types of timbers, what is the difference between aniline and semi-aniline leathers, and clued up on all natural stones vs man made stones? There's alot of technical information you need to understand to become an Interior Designer. - I teach details on specific sectors, for example if you want to work with a design firm that specialises in office workplace- what are the things you need to know Vs if you are getting involved with a hotel project for example. Sectors include: office workplace, bars & restaurants, residential, hotels & resorts, education. I solely teach online so your location is not a problem, we can organise various tools I use such as screen share, video calls and chat to support you.
