I earned my bachelor's in Economics with Econometrics at the University of Kent. I obtained my master's in Economics at the same institution. I am a candidate for a Ph.D. in Economics and Management.
Experience
I speak several languages, including English, Mandarin Chinese, Hokkien Chinese, Cantonese Chinese, and Malay. I have a variety of teaching experiences spanning more than 15 years, as well as professional experience as an accountant. I taught Economics, Business Statistics, and Finance at the University of Technology in Sydney, Finance and Economics at Western Sydney University, and Business at Sydney University. I also taught at Taylor's Business School at Taylor's University in Malaysia. I have received many commendations, including a Letter of Commendation for student evaluations, the Dean's Citation in Tutoring Excellence, and the Outstanding Contribution in Teaching and Learning Award. While at UTS, I coordinated a Weekly Centre of Learning Maths and Numeracy Workshop as well. My strength is the ability to impart knowledge of the content with simple, engaging, and effective techniques to help students understand and grasp the fundamental concepts of Economics. I aim to help them form a solid foundation of economics principles to allow them to confidently learn using real-world examples.

Loves travelling, likes to experience new culture, visit historical sites and meet new friends. Have been to more than 20 countries in the world, mostly in Asia and Europe. An active sportsman. Play most racquet sports (badminton, table tennis, squash, tennis) and volleyball. An competitive badminton and volleyball player, Represented the university at the British University Sports Association (BUSA) Championships during my student days and currently plays for my club and company. Winner of the University Department Level 3-minute thesis competition and Finalist of National Level 3-minute thesis competition for PhD students in 2014;
