Experience
I am available as a tutor for high school and university students. I am very passionate about my academic work and really enjoy aiding students in reaching their full potential. I am currently undertaking my PhD at the University of Exeter in Circular Economics, and have a Master’s degree in Sustainability and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney. I was an IB tutor for 4 years, throughout my undergraduate degree and prior to commencing full-time work. I have worked with students all over Sydney with a strong focus on English assessments, essay writing, and organisational skills. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with my students and form close professional relationships with them all. Accommodating to their specific academic needs. I was also employed as an undergraduate tutor in the University of Sydney’s Business School for two courses in 2020, providing both in person and online teaching. I am well-equipped to manage virtual tutoring. I am not settled into my research and am keen to share my knowledge and skills with students as they wade through their high school assessments and university assignments. I have had great success with my students, particularly in establishing realistic personalised study programs and guides, as well as in improving essay writing and research skills. I am very passionate about ensuring my teaching is personalised for each student, as I recognise that all students have different motivators and preferred ways of learning. My academic success: I completed the International Baccalaureate in 2014 with a score of 44/45 (equivalent ATAR 99.85), receiving the award for ‘Academic Student of the Year’ at my high school, Queensland Academy for Creative Industries. Further, I received the Jack McCormack Perpetual Prize in Industrial Relations Practice at the University of Sydney with my Bachelor of Commerce, and was awarded the Dean’s Prize for achieving a high distinction average in my Master of Sustainability degree. I recently also awarded a full scholarship for my PhD program.

Hobbies
Hi there! Hello, my name is Margo, I am an Australian PhD student at the University of Exeter. I am a genuine people-person and proactive person who values collaboration and respect within a student/tutor relationship. I am based in Exeter, however, am keen to leverage my skills as a virtual tutor for students back in Australia as I have a lot of experience in that academic environment. When I am not studying I am often concocting my next travel plans, spending time with friends exploring my new city, attempting a new recipe in the kitchen or enjoying a fun gym workout! All a part of creating a well-balanced life! I appreciate the rigorous nature of academia and believe it to be essential that all students master their own time management and organisation. I see this as one of my greatest strengths and would be willing to help student’s organise and plan their tasks and term work. I firmly believe that I am able to explain and transfer my knowledge and understanding with great success. I look forward to helping you reach your full potential :) *Please note that my timing in flexible, please contact me and we can work out what will work best.
