Private tutor in Sydney, Australia
Bachelor of Engineering (with honors) - Electrical & Electronic Systems (The University of Melbourne). H1s (high distinction) for all engineering mathematics (calculus, linear algebra, etc) subjects, and all computer programming topics. 10+ years of computer programming experience.
Hi! I am an electrical engineer from Melbourne, Australia. Until mid-2015 I worked for Ericsson, one of the world's largest engineering companies (in fact, the 5th biggest software company in the world!) I have also worked in a number of other software/electrical engineering roles; from testing & debugging solar power equipment, to building mobile phone apps that are now used by engineers across the world! But before I became an engineer, I was a mathematics and computer programming tutor. I first tutored computer programming when I was in high school (12 years ago!!), and tutored mathematics throughout university. I have found that the number one thing holding students back from success in math/programming is not a lack of talent or effort, but instead, worry and self-doubt. I have come across many students that think they "will never be good at math" all because their teacher does not have time to adequately explain the concepts to them. I find it hugely rewarding to see the improvements my students make because they've had someone explain the concepts to them in a way they can understand. I might be a little biased, but I truly believe with the right approach everybody can excel at, and even enjoy(!), maths and programming. I am happy to teach students of all ages and skill levels. I am based out of Paddington, and would prefer to meet in the city, but if this does not work for you, please let me know and we can discuss possible alternative arrangements.
