Education
I completed my Bachelor of Science (Hons-First Class) degree in Neuroscience at The University of Melbourne. I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Medicine degree at The University of Notre Dame.
Experience
I taught maths and science in Vanuatu to students in Years 7-9 with class sizes ranging from 24 to 45 students, so I'm no stranger to formal classroom environments. Interacting with so many learners allowed me to gain experience working with high-performing and underperforming students. I also tutored all levels of English and French in a 1-on-1 setting after school hours. I won't deny that there was a language barrier at times, but it made me a better teacher by forcing me to learn how to explain complex concepts in a myriad of ways. I focus on conceptual understanding over rote memorization no matter what I'm teaching because learning is pointless if students cannot apply what they've learned in other ways. I'm ready to share all of the study techniques I used to get through uni!
