Education

I am currently earning my Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics. I earned 95% on the last English assessment I completed.

Experience

I have taken Mathematical Modelling 1 and 2. I am currently taking Mathematics for Physical Sciences, completing assessments at a distinction level for all three subjects. I have tutored my peers in math. They believe that I teach the concepts they are struggling with more effectively. I struggled with math myself until I realized how to best explain concepts to myself and visually represent them, which I also enjoy teaching to other people. It exposes the true beauty of mathematics as a language to describe our universe. When I see someone struggling with the underlying concepts of the mathematical questions and not just the computational aspect of them, I go to great lengths to find many analogies to help visually describe them until I find the one that works the best. Everyone has different capabilities and preferred learning methods. I have a history of being very good at essays as I am analytically and verbally concise, which also makes me great at explaining math concepts.

Hobbies

I enjoy being interdisciplinary in my hobbies and academics. I am heavily interested by my math and in visual art, music and written English (mainly essays). I usually write music of my own or visualize mathematical concepts/look at art in my spare time. Math is tremendously useful from a purely utilitarian point of view to describe discrete methods of quantitative analysis, but what really captures the essence of math is being able to develop an intuition for it and see that it is everywhere around us, and that its primarily about understanding and applying concepts that follow rigorous logic, not about numbers. Hopefully my perspective of math is at least a little bit contagious to make the subject more fun for my students.
