Dave H.
Private tutor in Sydney, Australia
Education
I have a bachelor's degree in psychology and German. I also have a bachelor's of laws or LLB and a graduate diploma in legal practice.
Experience
I was admitted as a lawyer in New South Wales, Federal Court, and High Court of Australia. I am in the legal profession and use the Socratic method of teaching. My goals are to grow your confidence to think and learn independently, reduce your dependence on external tuition, and save you money. Before becoming a tutor officially, I used my method of teaching when I helped my sister. She ranked in the top 1% of the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank with a scholarship in NSW. At the university, she is consistently a high distinction student. She was awarded the Dean's List of Excellence for Academic Achievement. My developing areas of expertise include performance coaching and preparing students for scholarships, and specializing in successful scholarship and research grant applications. I am disciplined by a Chinese state-run experimental primary school with exposure to the traditional Confucian style of teaching when China was going through an unprecedented economic and social reform. I navigated through the western style of unstructured and laissez-faire secondary school education in Australia. I typically tutor university students. By special written request, I will consider tutoring high school students.
